Things 10 & 11

Week of February 20-27

10. Sign up for a Twitter account. Track your activities using Twitter for a few days. Think about how Twitter might impact students in and outside of your classroom. Blog about your Twitter experience.

11. Play around with an online image generator. There are a number of free graphics generators that customize images into banners, buttons, comic strips, logos, blog pics and more. Flickr's online image generators are a fun and easy way to start now that you have an account! Blog about your experience(s).

    Hi Everyone -
    Hope you all had a good break. I just opened a twitter account which I was glad to do because I've heard so much about it. So far, it seems like a reader that posts the type of info you'd find in a Status bar on Facebook (which I hate) so, I'll have to play some more to see what the buzz is.
    I did copy one thing from a friend's twitter:
    BrainBender:If you could only learn by using 1 web tool for the rest of your life-what would it be?
    To me google is the obvious, but barring that??

    I will find the time to play and post some more.

    Looks like comments are working again. I used twitter, I signed up and I hate it. It seems pretty inane to me. Just sound bites, usually tell what someone is doing. I will not be using this. I am glad to have checked it out because I hear so much about it I like to know what people are referring to. If you are interested, Jon Stewart had a funny twitter skit:

    I signed up for Twitter too. It really doesn't do much for me because I'm already on Facebook. It's basically the same thing as the status line on FB.

    I went to the on-line image generator and didn't really do much with it b/c I kept getting too many pop ups. Also, I found post it notes on there for your computer. I downloaded them and ended up with other stuff on my computer that I didn't want.
