Week of February 6th-13th

6. VUVOX is a neat mashup tool that allows you to mix, create and blend your personal media – video, photos and music into neat presentations. It's free and easy. You can use Flickr photos, Picasa albums, and RSS feeds - and then you can add audio narrations and music. There is an express service, a collage option or a studio option where you can construct your presentation in a storyboard style. Here is what I created, Sample 23Things .

  1. Very cute.
Looks like you can't upload content from your own computer, though?

  2. Reading the Web 2.0 article now, I guess that's part of the point of Vuvox.

  3. Question about images. I searched google and found appropriate images for what I wanted to do on vuvox. I saved them to a folder and then brought them into vuvox. They were poor quality - pixelated. I think there may be an easy way around this but I haven't done a lot with images. Is there a simple fix? btw I just check to make sure that I was spelling pixelated properly and found that pixilated means drunk or mentally unbalanced.

  4. I made a collage on Vuvox. I actually want to use it for my son's school. I love the look of it. It was easy to add text. I'm having a problem trying to get music on it. I go to upload and it's not allowing me to. So, i'm not sure what to do now. There isn't a help section, so now I'm at a loss. Once I figure out the music thing, I will definitely use the site again.

  5. I'm having a problem adding music to mine too. I think this could be a fun tool for linear thinkers like me. I started creating a collage illustrating "you reap what you sow," as I was working on it I saw some flaws in this philosophy (thought of Matt's work with Holocaust survivors etc)bad things happening to good people etc and began to twist the images to reflect my new thoughts. Anyway, it struck me as a cool way to document stream of consciousness for some of us.

  6. I have been having trouble posting comments both in school and at home...let's see how attempt #4 goes. In the collage editing mode of vuvox make sure under My Media tab you change the add images drop down menu to add audio. You should be able to drag and drop or upload mp3's once it is in the audio setting. (There is also an add video). There are some really neat options with this program. I created a quick and cute Valentine's collage using the studio express. I searched a theme on flickr of hearts which I dragged and dropped into the template of my "presentation" and added a song all in less than fifteen minutes. I also like that you can embed your creation, share or link it all rather easily.

  7. I did change to add audio. I still can't upload music at home or at school. Maybe you could give a quick lesson next time we meet for Tech Yes. (please, please oh please??) So far vuvox is my favorite of the 23 things. It would be a great tool to show at open house etc. to show parents pictures of their children working or some of their children's work.

  8. This looks like a site I would use. I just have to open it up at home so that I can add photos. The site that I currently use that has my photos isn't accessible from school.
