Things 18. Google Docs is great because I can create something at home or the coffee shop or wherever and it will be accessible from home or work or anywhere I have a connection to the internet. Having said that, like things to be saved locally even though it is probably less safe. What if Google goes belly up tomorrow? Will all my work be lost?
ReplyDeleteChris and I used google docs when we were collaborating on a document and I think that worked well but ms word allows for collaboration too. I'll be curious to see how others feel about these applications.
Jen
As Jen had mentioned, these tools allow for collaboration much like a wiki would or even some of the newer Web 2.0 tools like skrbl (www.skrbl.com), an online whiteboard, to really see/use their full potential. Google tools must be huge in colleges! Google maps and earth are just another example of how our world is becoming closer and more accessible in the classroom. I really need to offer a few workshops using Google Earth/Maps with our faculty.
